Inorganic Silicate Zinc Shop Primer

Inorganic Silicate Zinc Shop Primer

Two-component inorganic zinc silicate shop primer for temporary corrosion protection during steel processing, storage and transportation.

  • Good high-speed welding with low zinc fume.
  • Good gas-cutting properties.
  • Compatible with subsequent coating systems and resistant to heat treatment.

DG Zinc 1000

1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A shop primer based on modified ethyl silicate and zinc powder.

2 RECOMMENDED USE

This product is primarily designed for temporary rust prevention during steel processing, storage, and transportation in steel workshops, particularly for steel structure components requiring subsequent processing (e.g., welding, cutting). It forms a durable protective film on steel surfaces, effectively resisting moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive agents without compromising welding quality. The zinc-based coating produces minimal welding fumes, and subsequent coatings can be applied without complete removal of the primer, offering a convenient and efficient solution for steel structure processing and protection.

FEATURES

  • Excellent high speed welding performance.
  • Excellent gas cutting properties.
  • Can be over-coated with a wild range of topcoat systems.
  • Remarkable heat resistance and less scorch by heat treatment.

4 COMPLIED STANDARDS

Complies with the standard GB/T 6747-2008 “Primer for Shipyard Workshops”
